Pro's

The most commonly used towbar, a fixed flange is highly versatile, you can add accessories, and different tow balls such as an AL-KO tow ball, ball pin and jaw to suit your needs, recommended for commercial use and if you require twin electrics due to the various socket mounting options.

Con's

Not detachable, not recommended if you have parking sensors on some vehicles.

Pro's

Fixed swan necks are becoming much more popular, they have a sleek design and are less likely to effect parking sensors, the electrics are usually set further back, they are suitable for both standard and AL-KO tow hitches.

Con's

Whilst they are compatible with AL-KO stabiliser hitches they are not suitable  for older stabilisers which require a vehicle mounted stabiliser plate, The tow ball is fixed at a legal height and distance from the vehicle  this is not adjustable, not suitable for ball and pin use.

Pro's

Most are invisible when not connected, the detachable neck neatly and easily detaches from under the bumper and the neck can be stowed away,  electrics are usually on a flip up plate, highly recommended for vehicles with parking sensors, suitable for both standard and AL-KO hitches, easy to use, and just as strong as a fixed towbar.

Con's

Not suitable for older towbar mounted stabilizer systems, the cost is  usually higher.
